One of the main benefits of technology is that it’s enabled worthwhile causes to gain greater traction and reach without being geographically restricted. Animal lovers, for instance, can find a plethora of Youtube channels dedicated especially to animal welfare. Here are five non-profit organizations that are worth supporting if you consider yourself an animal lover.

Hope For Paws

Hope For Paws was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California. The non-profit coordinates rescue missions for animals who are in dire need of help due to owner negligence and abuse. The organization founders, who also maintain the channel, have years of collective experience in dog rescue operations. The channel features various rescue stories as well as educational resources for those interested in conducting their own rescue operations.

Vet Ranch

It’s only been six years since veterinarian Matt Carriker started the Youtube channel, but Vet Ranch has quickly gained ground, with close to three million subscribers. Vet Ranch brings in homeless animals and attends to their medical needs. Dr Carriker and his staff work tirelessly to rehabilitate injured and ill-stricken animals and help them get placed into a better home.

Brave Wilderness

Animal expert Coyote Peterson started the Youtube channel in 2014 and has now grown it to 17.4 million subscribers. Some of the channel’s most popular video uploads include face-to-face encounters with giant catfish, venomous octopi, and other rare animal species that you won’t normally find on Discovery Channel.

Cooking With Dog

As the name implies, Cooking With Dog is a Youtube channel that features Francis the dog and a mystery chef whose name and face are never fully disclosed. In their videos, the mystery chef cooks a variety of authentic Japanese recipes while Francis narrates in the background. Although the channel is centered around Japanese cuisine, the videos are narrated in English.

Big Cat Rescue

Big Cat Rescue is a non-profit organization that rehabilitates and rehomes wild species of cats, including tigers, jaguars, and feral cats. Many of the channel’s videos show the day-to-day activities of these rescued felines as well as their inspirational stories.
